Suwon Special City Proclaims Gender Equality Vision of 'Making Equality Everyday'

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) held the 31st Gender Equality Week Commemoration Event and Policy Forum at the Suwon Convention Center on the 3rd, proclaiming the gender equality vision 'Suwon Special City, where equality becomes everyday life.'

Mayor Lee Jae-jun said in his congratulatory remarks, "We will gather citizens' voices to build a city where equality becomes everyday life," and added, "When citizens' wisdom is added, we can create changes that are felt in daily life, and when citizens' voices come together, we will be able to pave a wider path for gender equality."

Mayor Lee Jae-jun presented Gender Equality Awards to △Yu Kyung-mi, President of Korea Life Improvement Suwon City Federation (section for spreading gender equality culture and advancing rights) △Yoon Hwang-suk, CEO of Yukyung Co., Ltd. (section for expanding women's social participation) △Jung Eun-young, Shu Cake House Suwon Main Branch (section for women's welfare promotion and volunteer service) △Choi Kong-hwan, Branch Manager of IBK Corporate Bank East Suwon Branch (management and business contribution to gender equality development).

The gender equality vision proclaimed today, 'Suwon Special City, where equality becomes everyday life,' reflects Suwon City's commitment to expand gender equality from a matter of a specific gender to a living issue for all citizens, and to implement gender equality policies that can be felt throughout daily life.
