Yongin Special City Holds 27th Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony and Social Welfare Expo

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) held the "27th Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony and Social Welfare Expo" at the City Hall Sky Plaza and Ace Hall on the 10th.

Mayor Lee Sang-il met with social welfare workers and citizens at the social welfare expo held at the City Hall Sky Plaza by regional social welfare institutions and organizations, communicating with them and listening to the voices and opinions of dedicated workers in the social welfare field to develop better welfare policies.

In his commemorative address, Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "Through the social welfare expo prepared at the City Hall Sky Plaza by regional social welfare institutions, organizations, and citizens, we were able to form consensus on the path we should take toward a better community society," and added, "Today's commemoration ceremony holds the meaning of community members showing mutual consideration and pooling their will to make Yongin an even warmer living community."

At the ceremony, 41 individuals dedicated to building a dense social welfare system in the region received commendations as social welfare meritorious contributors.

Crafton Inc., which operates the talent training educational institution "Jungle Campus" in Yongin, donated 70 computers for children and youth in the region. The donated items will be provided to local children's centers, youth shelters, and social welfare institutions in Yongin.

Prior to the ceremony, a "Social Welfare Expo" was also held at the City Hall Sky Plaza on the same day with the participation of 40 regional social welfare institutions.

The event venue featured 40 booths divided into four categories—promotion, sharing, hope, and experience—where promotional activities, bazaars, corporate sponsorship introductions, disability awareness education, and elderly experience activities were held.

In addition, spectacular performances by Yongin University's Taekwondo Demonstration Team, the Yongin City Women's Choir, and a disabled person's band, as well as magic performances, provided enjoyment to participants.

Park Su-chul, chairman of the Yongin City Social Welfare Council, said, "Social welfare begins with a heart for people, and the power of social welfare lies in extending a hand to those in difficulty and standing by them so they can rise again," and added, "Today's event will serve as a space for communication and solidarity where regional social welfare institutions and organizations share their experiences and participate together."
