Yongin FC Women's Amateur Representative Team Takes On 2026 K League Queen Cup on the 11th

Yongin FC's women's amateur representative team will participate in the '2026 K League Women's Soccer Tournament Queen Cup (K-WIN CUP)' for the first time since its founding.

Yongin FC's Queen Cup representative team will compete in the 2026 K League Queen Cup held from the 11th to the 13th at the Jecheon Football Center in North Chungcheong Province, taking on their first challenge under the club's name.

The Queen Cup is a women's amateur soccer tournament organized by the Korea Professional Football League, held annually to promote women's soccer and expand opportunities for sports participation. Each K League club directly selects women's amateur players and participates in the tournament after conducting their own training. Yongin FC, which formally launched as a professional club this year, has selected 12 women's amateur players to compete in their inaugural Queen Cup tournament.

Yongin FC held a public test in June to form their Queen Cup representative team, then conducted regular training sessions every Tuesday at the Yangji Youth Training Center athletic field. The team has prepared for their first tournament while developing individual skills and building organizational unity among players through pass and build-up exercises, defensive organization drills, practical mini-games, and set-piece training.

In particular, Yongin FC utilized the professional coaching system of its youth teams to support the representative team's performance improvement. Yongin FC's U15 head coach Kim Sang-won and assistant coach Bang Ye-chan participated as the Queen Cup representative team's coaching staff to guide the players, and through practice matches with the U15 squad, they prepared for actual game situations and reviewed tactics and organizational cohesion.

During Yongin FC's home match against Suwon FC in Round 25 of 'Hana Bank K League2 2026,' the representative team held a send-off ceremony in front of home fans to announce their debut. The team will travel to Jecheon Football Center in North Chungcheong Province according to the tournament schedule and begin the official competition.

The representative team also includes 8 participants from the 'Yongin FC Women's Futsal Tournament Mireu Queen Cup,' which Yongin FC hosted in March to expand opportunities for local women's participation in recreational sports.

Park Shin-wan, captain of Yongin FC's Queen Cup representative team, said, "In this tournament, I will cherish not just the results, but the process of our players competing together and the moment we become one under the name Yongin FC," and added, "Since we are competing under the Yongin FC name, we will show you a performance without regret, with pride, and without giving up until the end."

An Yongin FC official stated, "Since this is our first Queen Cup in our inaugural year, all the players have consistently prepared with pride in representing Yongin FC," and expressed hope that "in this first challenge, the players will fully demonstrate the training and capabilities they have developed so far and achieve meaningful results."
