Suwon Hwaseong Illuminated with Light... 'A Yuguabin' Media Art Continues Until October 6

The '2026 Suwon Hwaseong Media Art,' a 'festival of lights' that wraps Suwon Hwaseong in beautiful illumination, opened on the 19th.

The Suwon Hwaseong Media Art runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. until October 6 in the areas of Hwaseo Gate, Jangan Gate, and Jangan Park. The theme of the 2026 Suwon Hwaseong Media Art is 'New Light Shared Joy (同樂): Suwon Hwaseong (華城), Blooming with Light Season 1 - A Yuguabin (我有嘉賓).' 'A Yuguabin' means 'I have an honored guest.'

Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Suwon Special City, who attended the opening ceremony held on the 19th, said, "In preparation for the Year of Suwon Visits, we have carefully prepared the Suwon Hwaseong Media Art with the spirit of 'A Yuguabin,'" adding, "I hope all the guests who have joined us will enjoy the festival of lights and experience happiness."

The Suwon Hwaseong Media Art, now in its sixth year, has expanded performances and enhanced experiential and stay-based content. At Hwaseo Gate, the media art work 'Light of Connection' will be screened three times daily (7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.).

At Jangan Gate, media art works featuring storytelling related to Suwon Hwaseong will be presented under the theme 'The King's Path - Together.' Grand media art will be created through a combination of lighting, sound, and special effects.

Jangan Park will be configured as a media park. Sound interactive media art will be created utilizing the walls of Suwon Hwaseong, and giant flower installations and botanical healing zones will be operated utilizing the forest spaces.
