Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) announced that it will waive all tolls on the Bibong-Maesong urban expressway to ease the financial burden of commuting during the upcoming Chuseok holiday and ensure smooth traffic flow for citizens returning to their hometowns.
The toll waiver will be implemented for four days from September 24 to 27, coinciding with the holiday period, in line with the government's Chuseok livelihood stabilization measures. During this period, all vehicles using the Bibong-Maesong urban expressway can pass through toll booths without paying any fees.
The Bibong-Maesong urban expressway is a major transportation link connecting the southwestern and eastern regions of Hwaseong City and is expected to see high usage from citizens and travelers heading to and from their hometowns during the holiday period.
Mayor Jung Myung-geun of Hwaseong Special City said, "I hope that this toll waiver will help ease the transportation burden for citizens returning to their hometowns for Chuseok and provide a more comfortable journey during the holiday," and added, "We will carefully monitor road conditions during the holiday period and implement special traffic measures without any lapses, including providing traffic information through road electronic signs, so that citizens can travel safely and comfortably."
