Mayor Jung Myung-keun Shares Warm Moments with Seniors at Welfare Center for Chuseok Holiday

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-keun) announced that on the 23rd, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, Mayor Jung Myung-keun visited the Hwaseong Dongtan Senior Welfare Center to extend holiday greetings to the elderly and encourage welfare center staff members.

On that day, Mayor Jung Myung-keun of Hwaseong Special City toured the welfare center facilities and shared tea with staff to listen to field challenges and suggestions. He also expressed his gratitude to staff members working to help the elderly enjoy a comfortable and vibrant retirement.

He then directly met with elderly residents participating in welfare center programs and those using the seniors' restaurant, inquired about their well-being, and offered holiday greetings wishing them a bountiful and happy Chuseok, along with hopes for their health and peace of mind.

The Hwaseong Dongtan Senior Welfare Center, which opened in July 2019, provides various welfare services to elderly residents from Dongtan 1-dong through Dongtan 9-dong, including counseling and case management, community care, health and wellness support, and senior social education programs.

On average, approximately 700 elderly residents use the welfare center daily, and the seniors' restaurant provides meals to approximately 330 elderly residents per day.

Mayor Jung Myung-keun of Hwaseong Special City said, "It is meaningful to visit the elderly directly for Chuseok and inquire about their well-being," and added, "I hope the elderly residents will have a healthy and happy holiday, and I am deeply grateful for the warm attention and dedication of the welfare center staff."
