Osan City (Mayor Kwak Sang-wook) announced on the 10th that it is cultivating ecological specialists to foster civic awareness of environmental importance and promote practical action, as well as to establish a foundation for regional environmental education.
To this end, Osan City, as the host, has been conducting advanced training programs for ecological guides, organized by the Osan Environmental Movement Association.
The ecological guide education consisted of a total of 10 lectures from September to October, with the final lecture held on October 4 at the Osan Stream.
The main content of this training includes plant ecology, plant sociology field training, insect studies, insects of Osan Stream, Cheongta Mountain autumn flower ecological exploration, program planning for field education, fish ecology and hands-on fish experience practice at Osan Stream.
The final 10th lecture was conducted with the participation of 15 ecological guide trainees, including Osan Mayor Kwak Sang-wook, and featured a hands-on fish experience practice lecture by Dr. Lee Hak-young from Korea University, focusing on understanding the basic types and ecology of fish as the foundation of stream ecosystems.
