On the 25th, the decision to change the Urban Redevelopment Promotion District and promotion plan, including the lifting of seven districts in Pyeongtaek Sinjang New Town that passed through the Gyeonggi Province Urban Redevelopment Committee in December last year, was announced.
Gyeonggi Province explained that it announced the change to the Pyeongtaek Sinjang Urban Redevelopment Promotion District and promotion plan after the conditions set by the provincial Urban Redevelopment Committee at that time, including adjustments to building layout plans, were met. Consequently, the Pyeongtaek Sinjang New Town district was reduced from the originally planned 1.18 million square meters to 520,000 square meters.
The Gyeonggi Province Urban Redevelopment Committee, at a meeting held on December 21 last year, lifted seven districts (Sinjang C1·C2·C3·C4·C5·R1·R2) with resident opposition of 25% or more, and conditionally approved changes to the Urban Redevelopment Promotion District and promotion plan for five districts (Sinjang R3·R4, Seojeong R1·R2·R3), reflecting an expansion of small unit ratio and increased floor area ratio.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "If some districts in Goyang City, Guri City, and others undergo similar lifting procedures in the future, Gyeonggi Province's New Town projects are expected to be adjusted to within 100 districts, representing more than 50% reduction from the original plan."
