Capacity enhancement training was conducted for welfare case managers in Osan City who counsel and support individuals in difficult circumstances in the field.

Osan South Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (Director Shin Young-mook) jointly organized with the Osan City Community Welfare Council (Chairman Kwak Sang-wook, Co-chairman Kim Hoe-woong) conducted training focused on cases to explore solutions for diverse community welfare needs on the 27th of last month in the City Hall Water-scent Room.

The training was held in two sessions following the session on the 15th and proceeded through the "Solution-Focused Basic Training I·II" course. In particular, with approximately 30 case managers from various organizations responsible for case management in Osan City in attendance, Lee Kyung-sook, director of Haneul Counseling Room at the Solution-Focused Practice Association, served as instructor and drew empathy from practitioners by presenting actual family counseling cases from the field.

This training, conducted in combination with theory and practice, was implemented as counseling techniques that can be practically utilized in case management, including understanding of case management practice, practice in solution-focused questioning techniques useful for counseling, understanding of step-by-step intervention processes in solution-focused case management, and case exercises.

Director Shin Young-mook of Osan South Comprehensive Social Welfare Center stated, "We hope this training will be beneficial to case managers who counsel and support people in difficult circumstances in the field, and we will continue to conduct various educational programs that work together with the community."

An official from the Osan City Healthy Family Support Center who attended the training said, "Through this training, the perspective on clients changed from problem-focused to solution-focused, and it was a very beneficial time as practical training was conducted that can be applied in actual field work."
