Preliminary candidate Choi Kyu-jin from the Saenuri Party stated on the 6th that he will transform Suwon into a 21st-century-style transportation hub city.
In this regard, Preliminary Candidate Choi added that this should be understood as an extension of the direction he presented on the 3rd, saying he would "overhaul the transportation system to focus on commuting functions."
On the 6th, Preliminary Candidate Choi visited the traffic island in front of Suwon Station Plaza, Suwon's gateway, where he made these remarks and discussed Suwon's traffic issues with citizens.
At this occasion, Preliminary Candidate Choi stated, "With the opening of the subway era, we have already experienced the convenience and accessibility of reaching Gangnam in 40 minutes," and emphasized, "Since citizens' needs will also increase accordingly, it is important to pay attention from the citizens' perspective."
He further stressed, "Despite the subway opening, transportation remains the top priority issue in Suwon, so I will continue to expand transportation infrastructure and apply advanced technology to make it a smart transportation hub."
