Kim Yong-seo: "Leading the Way in Improving Working Conditions for Taxi Operators"

Kim Yong-seo, Saenuri Party preliminary candidate for Suwon mayor, said on the 10th, "I will improve the working conditions of taxi operators who are struggling amid economic downturn and provide support to ensure that taxi workers, who are the legs of citizens, gain improved morale and stable livelihoods."

Candidate Kim stated, "To address the chronic oversupply and excessive competition in the taxi industry, I will conduct a survey of taxi operation conditions and then implement a phased reduction of both individual and company-operated taxis to resolve the problem of oversupply."

Candidate Kim also explained, "In 2015, coinciding with the 'Hwaseong Year of Tourism,' I will create a unique Suwon taxi brand by supporting the standardization of taxi colors and the installation of a happy call center to enable integrated management of taxis."

Furthermore, Candidate Kim added, "To prevent accidents and enhance traffic safety awareness among drivers, high-resolution dash cams should be installed to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers."

He particularly emphasized, "I will actively propose to the central government to ensure that taxi drivers' livelihoods are stabilized through the early implementation of systems including support for children's educational expenses, living cost support for accident victims, and value-added tax exemptions on taxi membership fees."
