Gwangsa IC Opens in Yangju… Improved Accessibility to Goeup District

Gyeonggi Province and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Seoul Regional Office of Land Management) announced on the 29th that the Gwangsa IC in the Yangju section of the National Road No. 3 Bypass was additionally opened on the 23rd.

The construction of the National Road No. 3 Bypass has partially opened 15.6km out of the 26.9km section from Uijeongbu Jaaum IC to Yangju to Dongducheon Sangpae IC in order to minimize traffic inconvenience for local residents.

The Gwangsa IC is an interchange located between Uijeongbu Jaaum IC and Yangju Goeup District, significantly improving road access for local residents of Yangju Goeup District and connecting to National Road No. 98, thereby reducing travel time for vehicles heading to and from Yangju City Hall and Pocheon direction.

The province explained that it has become more convenient as there is no need to pass through congested city areas when using Seoul Outer Ring Uijeongbu IC or moving toward Namyangju direction.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Gyeonggi Province plan to open all sections from Uijeongbu Jangam to Dongducheon Sangpae by the end of this year.
