Suwon Vehicle Registration Office Opens North Suwon Civil Affairs Center

Suwon City (Mayor Yeom Tae-young) opened the North Suwon Civil Affairs Center of the Vehicle Registration Office on the first floor of Jangan-gu Office on the 7th to resolve public service inconveniences related to vehicle registration procedures.
With the opening of the North Suwon Civil Affairs Center, the city will now more efficiently process the continuously growing vehicle registration inquiries while providing prompt public services through comprehensive civil affairs handling linked with district office operations.
Vehicle registrations in Suwon City have increased annually, with approximately 410,000 vehicles registered in the city as of the end of April. The North Suwon Civil Affairs Center handles civil affairs inquiries for non-commercial vehicles in the Jangan and Yeongtong areas, including new registration, transfer registration, change registration, mortgage registration, vehicle registration certificate reissuance, and vehicle registration original copy issuance. This accounts for approximately 20 percent of Suwon City's vehicle registration inquiries.
The city anticipates that the opening of the North Suwon Civil Affairs Center will reduce processing time per case by approximately 15 minutes, and it expects that citizen satisfaction with vehicle registration services will improve significantly.
Since December 2010, when vehicle registration services nationwide were converted to national services, the Vehicle Registration Office has been handling approximately 7,200 cases per day, overwhelming the center with inquiries.
