Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Releases Additional 14.95㎢ of Land Transaction Permit Areas in Gyeonggi Province

Full release from Gwangju and Gwacheon cities; partial release from Seongnam and Hanam cities
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport released an additional 14.95㎢ of land transaction contract permit areas across four cities in Gyeonggi Province as of the 14th.
The areas released in this round include Seongnam (1.71㎢), Gwangju (7.6㎢), Gwacheon (1.16㎢), and Hanam (4.47㎢), representing 55.3% of the land transaction contract permit areas (27.04㎢) that remained in the province before the release.
As a result, the land transaction contract permit areas in Gyeonggi Province have been reduced to 12.09㎢ across six cities, decreasing from 0.26% to 0.11% of the province's total area.
The released areas include locations where the original designation reasons have been eliminated, such as areas near the Seongnam Wiryeong residential complex where development plans have been completed and land transactions have declined, as well as areas like Gami-dong in Hanam where development activities are strictly restricted due to forest conservation and greenbelt designations.
A provincial official stated, "This measure to release permit areas is the result of consistent efforts to release 5,552.74㎢ of permit areas, which accounted for 54% of the province's total area in 2009, over the past six years."
