Uiwang City to Support Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing with Fewer Than 20 Units

Uiwang City is set to enforce the "Uiwang City Support Ordinance on Management of Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing" to create pleasant residential environments and improve residents' quality of life for multi-unit housing with fewer than 20 units.

To date, the city has provided maintenance and repair support based on housing ordinances for multi-unit housing with 20 or more units constructed under the Housing Act.

However, small-scale multi-unit housing with fewer than 20 units built under the Building Act has fallen into a blind spot where institutional support is unavailable, resulting in continued complaints from residents.

In response, the city decided to establish grounds to support part of maintenance and repair costs to improve residential environments in small-scale multi-unit housing complexes and resolve complaints, and has worked on enacting related ordinances.

According to the ordinance details, eligible projects are buildings where more than 15 years have passed since the occupancy permit was issued, with subsidies covering up to 80% of total project costs and not exceeding 20 million won.

Types of projects include repair work on roads, sidewalks and security lights within the complex, fence removal projects, urgent repair work on stone embankments, retaining walls and cut slopes, maintenance work on common areas of rooftops, and energy conservation projects.

Meanwhile, the city announced it plans to accept applications for maintenance and management support projects for small-scale multi-unit housing during the first half of this year, select project targets through a multi-unit housing management subsidy review committee, and then proceed with support immediately.
