Gyeonggi Province Education Office Institute for Future Science Education Holds Youth Science Inquiry Competition

The Gyeonggi Province Education Office Institute for Future Science Education (Director Hyun Gye-myeong) held the finals of the "2026 Gyeonggi Province Youth Science Inquiry Competition (Convergent Science)".

The competition, held on the 29th at the Gyeonggi Province Education Office Institute for Future Science Education (Suwon), was designed to help students develop convergent science inquiry competencies by creatively solving various problems of future society using artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies, and implementing ideas into tangible products.

The finals brought together 72 students from 36 teams (12 teams each from elementary, middle, and high schools) who were selected through preliminary rounds.

Students worked in two-person teams to analyze given problems and devise solutions, then created project proposals and designs before producing and presenting final outputs using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools.

Evaluations comprehensively assessed not only the final products but also clarity and systematicity of planning, completion, creativity, and practicality of outputs, presentation skills, and understanding and application of digital technology.

Teams advancing to the finals will receive the Institute Director's Award, and outstanding teams are scheduled to be recommended for the national competition organized by the Korea Science and Creativity Foundation.
