Hwaseong Jeongjo Filial Piety Elderly Welfare Center Operates 'Chuseok Holiday Support Program' to Promote Filial Culture

Hwaseong Jeongjo Filial Piety Elderly Welfare Center (Director Tan Ha) operated a 'filial culture promotion project, Chuseok holiday support program' for two days starting from the 21st to support vulnerable elderly residents in the local community in celebration of Chuseok.

This event was organized through the 'Gyeonggi Vivaldi Sharing Project - Chuseok Holiday Support Project' jointly coordinated by the 'Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Elderly Welfare Center Association' and the 'Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.'

In particular, the event saw direct participation from local community volunteers. On the first day, volunteers gathered to make rice dough from scratch and craft songpyeon (Korean rice cakes), and on the following day, they personally prepared mung bean pancakes, ofish skewers, and pollack pancakes with great care.

The songpyeon and pancakes produced this way, along with pressed rice cakes and ox-bone soup, were organized into holiday food packages and delivered to 100 vulnerable elderly residents in the area, providing a time to share the warmth of the Chuseok holiday.

Director Tan Ha of Hwaseong Jeongjo Filial Piety Elderly Welfare Center stated, "This Chuseok holiday support program was a meaningful time where local community volunteers directly contributed their efforts to give our elderly residents a warm holiday," and added, "We hope our elderly residents will enjoy a bountiful and warm Chuseok holiday."

Going forward, Hwaseong Jeongjo Filial Piety Elderly Welfare Center plans to continue its efforts in supporting vulnerable elderly residents and promoting filial culture by operating customized seasonal support programs in collaboration with the local community.
