Gyeonggi Northern Autonomous Police Commission Visits Pocheon and Guri for "On-Site Public Safety Communication"

The Gyeonggi Northern Autonomous Police Commission held the 7th and 8th Gyeonggi Northern Safe Public Safety Forums, on-site public safety communication events with residents, at Pocheon City Hall on the 28th and Guri City Hall on the 30th.

The Safe Public Safety Forum is a resident-participation communication event that rotates through cities and counties in northern Gyeonggi to introduce the autonomous police system and major public safety policies, share regional public safety conditions with residents, and directly gather feedback on inconveniences and improvement suggestions regarding public safety in daily life.

At the forum, opinions were exchanged on various public safety issues that residents experience in their daily lives, including ▲traffic safety measures such as dangerous cargo vehicle driving and improvements to traffic facilities ▲child and youth safety including enhanced patrols around schools and school violence prevention ▲crime prevention close to residents' lives such as voice phishing prevention.

The commission plans to share the resident opinions proposed at the forum with related organizations including police and local governments, conduct on-site verification, and reflect them in policies and projects. The commission will also continuously manage the processing procedures and results to ensure that resident opinions lead to actual improvements in regional public safety.

Lee Sang-ro, chairman of the Gyeonggi Northern Autonomous Police Commission, said, "The Safe Public Safety Forum is a venue for communication where residents and the commission discuss regional safety issues together," and added, "We will make efforts to ensure that residents' voices are translated into public safety policies that they can feel."
