Osan City Accepts Applications for Public Childcare Facilities Until the 7th

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City is accepting new applications for public childcare facilities through the 7th.

\r\n\r\n

Public childcare facilities are childcare institutions selected from outstanding private and home-based childcare centers, where the state and local governments provide operational support to deliver quality childcare and function as public childcare infrastructure.

\r\n\r\n

Eligibility requirements are that applicant childcare facilities must maintain Grade A evaluation certification or scores of 90 points or above, and maintain an enrollment rate of 70% or higher.

\r\n\r\n

Excluded from the program are corporate childcare facilities receiving operational funding from the employment insurance fund, corporate childcare facilities established or operated with support from the state or local governments, exclusive infant childcare facilities, national/public and social welfare corporations, legal associations and organizations receiving personnel cost support according to childcare business guidelines, infant-exclusive facilities, and special education childcare facilities for children with disabilities.

Childcare facilities selected as public childcare facilities will maintain their public childcare facility status for three years and will receive operational support.

\r\n\r\n

The city will provide educational materials costs and environmental improvement expenses to newly designated public childcare facilities through its own projects, and will also provide differential personnel costs to support the four major insurances and salaries of childcare staff on a monthly basis throughout the certification period of public childcare facilities.

\r\n\r\n

The city will accept applications through the 7th, conduct a review of detailed selection criteria, and announce the results on September 18th.

\r\n\r\n

Meanwhile, as of the end of last month, the city has designated and operated 27 public childcare facilities, with 611 children currently enrolled.
