Pyeongtaek City Conducts Intensive Nighttime Crackdown on Illegal Air-Light Advertisements in Sosabeol Area

[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] On the 20th, Pyeongtaek City conducted an intensive nighttime crackdown on air-light advertisements (standing signs) in the Sosabeol area, the central commercial district of Pyeongtaek, in cooperation with the Pyeongtaek Outdoor Advertising Association.

Air-light advertisements that have indiscriminately proliferated throughout the city not only damage the urban landscape but also pose a threat to pedestrian safety due to disorderly electrical wiring installation. They are classified as advertisements that cannot be permitted or reported under the Outdoor Advertising Act.

The intensive crackdown conducted administrative enforcement against 15 air-light advertisements that were not removed even after the notice period expired among 42 air-light advertisements for which violation notices had been issued previously.

Administrative enforcement was also carried out against air-light advertisements that were intensively installed at night. After a 15-day announcement period, they will be disposed of following one month of storage. Violation notices were issued for 16 newly installed air-light advertisements.
