Ganghwa County Receives Special Award at 2021 National Local Tax Development Forum Hosted by Interior Ministry

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Shin Eun-seop] Ganghwa County announced on the 15th that it received the Special Award, the Korea Local Tax Association President's Prize, at the '2021 National Local Tax Development Forum' held recently at B Hotel in Sejong Special Autonomous City.

The Local Tax Development Forum is Korea's largest-scale event in the local tax field, hosted by the Ministry of Interior and Safety and organized by the Korea Institute of Local Finance, where experts and practitioners in local tax-related fields gather annually to explore directions for local tax development through research project presentations, seminars, and other activities.

This Local Tax Development Forum was held as a venue to discuss and present new tax source development and institutional improvement measures amid rapidly changing times, with attendance from representatives of 17 cities and provinces and private sector experts.

Ganghwa County received the top award at the Incheon City Local Tax Work Conference held in September and participated as Incheon Metropolitan City's representative. Kim Min-hong, an official from the Finance and Planning Division who participated as a presenter, presented the topic of 'Improvement Plan for Acquisition Tax on Vehicle Structural Changes' and suggested a rational taxation plan for camping car structural change acquisition tax, receiving high praise from the judges and winning the 'Special Award'.
