Gyeonggi Province Supports Job-Seeking Youth with Language and Qualification Exam Fees up to 300,000 Won

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications until 6 p.m. on June 30 for the first half of this year for the "Gyeonggi Youth Capacity Enhancement Opportunity Support" project, which provides job-seeking youth with exam fees for language and qualification tests up to a maximum of 300,000 won.

The project, designed to provide Gyeonggi Province youth with more equitable opportunities to acquire qualifications, has launched exam fee support in 16 cities and counties in the first half: Yongin, Ansan, Anyang, Gimpo, Paju, Gwangju, Gwangmyeong, Hanam, Gunpo, Osan, Yangju, Uiwang, Pocheon, Gwacheon, Gapyeong County, and Yeoncheon County.

Youth in these 16 cities and counties (based on the age criteria stipulated in each city and county ordinance) who are unemployed as of the test date can apply through the integrated application system of the Gyeonggi Job Creation Foundation.

The project supports exam fees for 19 types of language tests including TOEIC, 544 types of national technical qualifications, and 95 types of nationally certified private qualifications on a cost-sharing basis.

The maximum annual support per youth is 300,000 won, and up to 100,000 won per exam can be received up to three times per year.

However, to support youth who primarily take low-cost tests, within an annual total of 100,000 won, exam fees for more than three tests can be supported, and the project operates on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget allocated to each city and county is exhausted.

Since exam fee support budgets may be depleted by city and county, it is advantageous for unemployed youth who have already taken exams to apply promptly.

Applications for exam fees submitted in the first half will be processed through verification procedures and distributed sequentially by July.

However, for those who missed the application period in the first half, applications can be made in the second half. In the second half, the exam fee support project will be conducted in 30 cities and counties from October 2 to November 30.
