Park Yong-cheol, Ganghwa County Governor, "Will Build Ganghwa Through Communication and Harmony"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Choi Ki-ho] The inaugural ceremony of Park Yong-cheol, Ganghwa County Governor, was held at 10 a.m. on the 4th at the Ganghwa Cultural Arts Center.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Incheon Mayor Yu Jung-bok, Acting Chairman Han Seung-hee of the Ganghwa County Council, Chairman Jang Gi-cheon of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Ganghwa Branch, President Park Yong-yeol of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Incheon Federation, Incheon City Council Chairman Jung Hae-kwon, Gimpo Mayor Kim Byung-soo, and approximately 1,500 residents of Ganghwa County from all sectors.

In the pre-ceremony performances, the joint concert of the Gilsang Children's Choir and the Ganghwa County Choir received strong support as a meaningful performance fostering harmony between generations. In the subsequent opening video, the vision of the Ganghwa County administration under Park Yong-cheol in the 8th civilian-elected term was presented, offering a glimpse into a hopeful future for Ganghwa.

In his inaugural address, County Governor Park Yong-cheol stated, "Today is the inaugural ceremony of all residents of Ganghwa to build Ganghwa together through communication and harmony, and a time to make promises and commitments to the people," and made five promises to create a "pleasant and desirable Ganghwa to live in."

First, he will launch the Citizens' Integration Committee and regularly open the "Open County Governor's Office that Visits Our Neighborhoods" to communicate directly with residents.

Second, he will expand seniors' free bus transportation services to include taxis and prepare a blueprint for a youth education and culture cluster to strengthen welfare for all generations.

Third, he will activate the Seokmo Island hot spring tourism zone and marine healing business and strengthen content at existing tourism facilities such as Manisan and Hwagae Garden to actively pursue tourism resource development.

Fourth, he will make active efforts to designate Ganghwa's southern end as an Economic Free Zone and actively support various local economic revitalization policies and agricultural, livestock, and fisheries industries.

Fifth, he will actively visit Incheon City and government ministries to ensure prompt progress on major long-pending projects such as the Ganghwa-Gyeyang Expressway and Ganghwa-Yeongjong Causeway construction.

Additionally, regarding North Korean propaganda broadcasts, he stated, "We have designated the entire Ganghwa County as a 'danger zone' and prohibited the distribution of anti-North leaflets and other materials. Going forward, I will also actively petition the government to prepare damage support measures for affected residents to alleviate the suffering of the people," expressing special interest.

Meanwhile, as the highlight of the inaugural ceremony, County Governor Park unveiled the new slogan for the county administration's 8th civilian-elected term. The unveiled slogan is "Ganghwa Created Together Through Communication and Harmony," and County Governor Park also conducted a performance in which he personally inscribed this slogan.
