Lee Sang-kyun, Paldal-gu District Chief, Conducts On-Site Administration to Prevent Cold Wave Accidents

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Lee Sang-kyun, Paldal-gu District Chief of Suwon City, visited the Kkotmeuu Senior Welfare Center (Chairman Kim Byung-kyou) located in Hwaseo-dong on the 13th to check on the well-being of elderly residents in the new year and inspect heating conditions during winter.

The Kkotmeuu Senior Welfare Center suspended operations in February 2022 following the Daeyupyeong District urban planning project, but reopened in October last year after modernization work. Currently, 46 members are using the newly rebuilt elderly leisure welfare facility.

On this day, the district chief inspected the operational status of the newly built senior center on its three-month anniversary and carefully examined the heating facilities to ensure the safety of elderly residents during the cold wave. He also engaged in dialogue with the center's members to directly listen to on-site voices.

Chairman Kim Byung-kyou of the Kkotmeuu Senior Welfare Center expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the considerable attention and support from Paldal-gu District and the local community, the senior center has quickly stabilized, and members are supporting each other through the cold winter."

District Chief Lee Sang-kyun stated, "I am conducting on-site inspections of the senior center to check on the well-being of elderly residents amid the prolonged cold wave in the new year. Through continuous on-site inspections of vulnerable areas such as senior centers, we will strengthen winter safety management."
