Suwon Paldal-gu District Chief Lee Sang-gyun Strengthens On-Site Administration to Prevent Cold Wave Accidents

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] On the 13th, Suwon Paldal-gu District Chief Lee Sang-gyun visited Kkotmoe Senior Center (Chairman Kim Byung-gyu) located in Hwaseo-dong to check on the well-being of elderly residents for the new year and inspect winter heating conditions.

Kkotmoe Senior Center suspended operations in February 2022 due to the Dae-yu Pyeong District urban development plan, and was newly constructed and reopened last October through a senior center modernization project. Currently, 46 members are spending time together at the new elderly leisure and welfare facility.

On this day, District Chief Lee inspected the operational status of the newly constructed senior center three months after its opening, carefully checked the heating facilities to ensure the safety of elderly residents amid the cold wave, and engaged in dialogue with center members to directly hear their voices from the field.

Kkotmoe Senior Center Chairman Kim Byung-gyu expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the keen interest and support from Paldal-gu District Office and the local community, the senior center has stabilized quickly, and our members are spending this cold winter together with mutual support.”

District Chief Lee Sang-gyun stated, "Following the continued cold waves since the new year, we are conducting on-site inspections of senior centers while also confirming the well-being of our elderly residents," adding, "We will strengthen winter safety management through continuous on-site inspections targeting vulnerable areas such as senior centers."
