Icheon City Operates Special Exhibition on City Hall Media Board Created with Citizens

[Suwon Ilbo=Um In-yong Reporter] Icheon City is drawing popularity by operating a special exhibition titled 'Autumn Stays at City Hall' through the media board installed at city hall, featuring citizens and organizations.

Since June, the city has installed a large media board utilizing unused space in the lobby on the 2nd floor of city hall, broadcasting vivid videos and various event information while promoting city policies in an intuitive and dynamic new manner.

In particular, city hall has been reborn as a 'digital playground' that goes beyond simple promotional methods, allowing citizens to directly participate and enjoy, emerging as a new communication channel and unique attraction for the future-oriented smart city of Icheon.

This special exhibition, the first planned exhibition of the digital playground with the theme 'Autumn Stays at City Hall,' features three types of stories through the media board including an individual poetry and calligraphy exhibition and local organization photography exhibitions, coloring the city hall space with autumn ambiance.

Poet Moon Kwae-sik from the Icheon Poetry Literature Society, who participated in the poetry and calligraphy exhibition, showcased poetry and calligraphy combining calligraphy and hand-drawn artwork studied at a community center at the suggestion of his spouse, along with bamboo fan works.

Additionally, photographic works from the Korea Photography Association Gyeonggi Province Branch and Icheon Branch are also on exhibition, and the Icheon Branch Member Exhibition, marking its 24th anniversary this year, captures fleeting moments that could easily be overlooked in photographs.

Meanwhile, Icheon City plans to specially display student works on the media board coinciding with the opening of the '2025 Icheon Dream Weaving Harmony Festival' co-hosted with the Gyeonggi Province Icheon Office of Education on the 27th.

Branch Director Lee Ho-geun said, "Works filled with members' sincerity reach audiences with a different sense of emotion through the media board. Some people even make a special trip to city hall to see the works displayed on the media board."

Additionally, the 2025 Gyeonggi Province Hometown Photographer Invitational Exhibition by the Provincial Branch captures the emotions and stories embedded in each person's daily life.

Provincial Branch Director Jeong Jae-moon said, "Photography is a visual medium that conveys one's message, and it was meaningful to be able to deliver the message that photographers wanted to communicate through photography in this special exhibition in a clearer and more beautiful way."
