Gyeonggi Expressway、Gwangju Chungcheong Regional Association、Electrical Construction Association Donate to Gwangju City

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Um In-yong] Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd., the Gwangju Chungcheong Regional Association, and the Gyeonggi Gwangju Electrical Construction Association donated funds and in-kind gifts to Gwangju City on the 29th to support vulnerable populations in the area.

On that day, Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd. delivered 1,200 sheets of Onnuri gift certificates worth 10,000 won each (12 million won equivalent), the Gwangju Chungcheong Regional Association provided 19 bags of white rice 10kg each (580,000 won equivalent), and the Gyeonggi Gwangju Electrical Construction Association contributed 3 million won in donations respectively.

Huh Deok-haeng, executive director of Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd., stated, "We have donated Onnuri gift certificates to help neighbors in need during the Lunar New Year holiday," adding, "We hope that these gift certificates, which can be used at traditional markets and local shops, will help invigorate the local economy and support vulnerable populations."

Nam Ki-jo, chairman of the Gwangju Chungcheong Regional Association, said, "We prepared white rice with the hope of helping neighbors facing difficulties during winter," and pledged, "We will continue our community sharing activities going forward."

Park Bu-yeo, chairman of the Gyeonggi Gwangju Electrical Construction Association, also stated, "Though it is a modest gesture, we hope it will be of practical help to vulnerable populations," and expressed, "We will continue to participate in sharing activities while improving residents' living environment."

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I am grateful to the three organizations for practicing sharing with neighbors despite difficult economic circumstances," and pledged, "We will ensure that the donated funds and in-kind gifts are delivered to those who need them most."
