Yongin Special City First Achieves Highest Grade 'SA' in Eighth-Term Election Pledge Implementation Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Choi Ki-ho Reporter] Yongin Special City announced on the 12th that it has achieved the highest grade 'SA' for the first time in the '2026 National Municipal Head Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.

The city, which received three consecutive A grades (excellence) in the eighth-term election evaluation over the past three years, achieved the highest grade SA in this final evaluation, demonstrating very high completion standards in pledge implementation.

\r\n\r\n

This evaluation comprehensively assessed pledge implementation status from the start of the eighth-term election through December 2025 based on five items: △pledge completion achievement △goal achievement △citizen communication △web communication △pledge alignment.

\r\n\r\n

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters calculates scores based on detailed indicators for each evaluation item, sums them, converts to a perfect score of 100 points, and grants the highest grade (SA) to municipal governments with a total score of 90 points or above. Grade A (excellence) is 85 points or above. Grades B and C are average.

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters confirms pledge implementation status and grants grades through citizen evaluation subcommittee meetings and full meetings.

\r\n\r\n

The city completed 185 out of 212 pledge projects, recording a 87% completion rate, with the remaining projects showing normal progress of 22 projects (11%) and partial progress of 5 projects (2%).

\r\n\r\n

Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "This SA grade achievement is the result of all city officials pooling their efforts and wisdom to keep our promises with the 1.1 million people of Yongin," and "In the eighth-term election, the city implemented many pledges including the lifting of Songtan water source protection zone designation, and we are striving to complete ongoing pledge projects with momentum."

The mayor said, "We will smoothly advance major projects directly linked to Yongin's development such as the mega semiconductor projects including Idong and Namsa-eup advanced system semiconductor national industrial complex that began in the eighth-term election, while expanding the city's transportation infrastructure and increasing the city's financial capacity."
