Hwaseong Future Vision Committee Launched to Paint Tomorrow's Hwaseong with Citizens' Hearts

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jeong Jun-seong] Hwaseong Special City has established the 'Hwaseong Future Vision Committee (Chairman Cho Seung-mun)' to establish the 9th elected government's future vision and citizen-centered governance direction, and has begun full-scale operations.

On the 15th, the city held an inaugural ceremony for the 'Hwaseong Future Vision Committee' in the main auditorium of City Hall, attended by approximately 100 people including Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Chairman Cho Seung-mun, Advisory Chairman Oh Il-yong, and other committee officials. The ceremony included the presentation of appointment certificates, sharing of operational directions, and inaugural ceremony.

The committee is composed of 15 expert members from various fields including administration, transportation, urban development, economy, welfare, and culture, with former Hwaseong Vice Mayor Cho Seung-mun serving as chairman. Additionally, an advisory committee (Chairman Oh Il-yong) comprising approximately 50 members has been established to support the committee.

The Hwaseong Future Vision Committee operates through four divisions: △City Government Vision and Administrative Innovation Division △Transportation and Urban Safety Division △Future Growth and Livelihood Economy Division △Citizen Happiness, Culture, Sports, and Living Welfare Division. Going forward, it will play a role in drawing the future blueprint of Hwaseong Special City through reviewing the 9th elected government's vision system and pledged projects and discovering key tasks.

Meanwhile, the committee's activities will continue until July 20, and the results will be announced to citizens thereafter.

Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun stated, "The 8th elected government achieved remarkable growth including the launch of a special city ranking 4th in scale nationwide and the completion of a four-district governance system," emphasizing that "the 9th elected government is a period to connect citizens' daily lives with happiness based on these achievements."

He continued, "The Hwaseong Future Vision Committee is a solid partner in converting promises made to citizens into feasible city administration tasks," and said, "Taking the committee members' recommendations as a foundation, we will move forward together on the journey toward 'Korea's No.1 City.'"
