Guri City Saemaul Association Concludes '2026 Saemaul Leaders Capacity Enhancement Training Conference'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] The Guri City Saemaul Association (Chairman An Jung-seop) held the '2026 Saemaul Leaders Capacity Enhancement Training Conference' from July 10-11 as a one-night, two-day program at the Hyundai Suri Resort in Sokcho City, Gangwon Province.

The training conference was attended by approximately 250 people, including Chairman An Jung-seop of Guri City Saemaul Leaders, Saemaul Association members, and heads of local organizations and institutions.

The event was organized to boost pride and morale among Saemaul leaders who have dedicated themselves to regional community development and revitalization of the Saemaul movement.

The program included a special lecture by Guri City Mayor Shin Dong-hwa, commendation awards for outstanding leaders who contributed to Saemaul movement revitalization, small group discussions and case presentations by district, and talent shows and singing contests.

Chairman An Jung-seop stated, "Thanks to Saemaul leaders who dedicate themselves to serving throughout the community with unwavering effort, the Guri City Saemaul Association exists today. I hope this training conference becomes a meaningful time to reflect on the values of the Saemaul movement and jointly explore new directions for the Saemaul Association to take forward."

Guri City Mayor Shin Dong-hwa said, "I sincerely thank all Saemaul leaders who have quietly served as a reliable support for our community in unseen places. Through this training conference, I hope to elevate the leaders' capacity to the next level and ask that the Saemaul movement lead the way in creating a 'bold challenge, shining Guri City' going forward."
