Pyeongtaek City Holds '2019 Second Half New Civil Servant Orientation'
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jang Kyung-hee] Pyeongtaek City held the '2019 Second Half New Civil Servant Orientation' from September 23rd to 26th at the Songtan International Exchange Center and Pyeongtaek area.
The orientation was organized with 90 newly hired civil servants from the second half participating to establish correct public service values for new civil servants, foster their fundamental qualities, help them understand municipal administration, and enhance their adaptability to organizational culture in the civil service.
The program began with a special lecture by Vice Mayor Lee Jong-ho and invited external expert instructors to cover civil servants' basic conduct and establishment of public service values, workplace etiquette and customer service training, report writing and integrity humanities, and practical training lessons from senior colleagues.
Through site visits including Samsung Electronics, Pyeongtaek Port, and Pyeongtaek Gas Corporation, participants enhanced their understanding of municipal affairs, and particularly visited Camp Humphreys to learn about matters related to U.S. Forces in Korea.
Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon said, "This orientation was operated to establish correct public service values as civil servants and to enhance understanding of municipal administration among new civil servants," and added, "I expect that each new civil servant will fulfill their role and become a cornerstone for the development of Pyeongtaek City."
