Pyeongtaek City Holds '2019 USFK-Related Agencies Workshop'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City (Mayor Jung Jang-seon) held the '2019 USFK-Related Agencies Workshop' at the Paengseong International Exchange Center on the 28th to strengthen the cooperative network among agencies related to the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK).

About 30 officials from 18 agencies, including the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the 8th U.S. Army, and the 7th U.S. Air Force, attended. The program proceeded in the order of discussions on collaboration measures for pending issues by agency, a special lecture by invited UN Command Deputy Commander Stewart Meyer, and tours of local industrial sites such as the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus and visits to tourist attractions.

Park Hong-gu, head of the Korea-U.S. Cooperation Project Group who presided over the workshop, said, "Pyeongtaek City will make every effort to develop into a globally exemplary city hosting U.S. forces. I hope you will all pool your wisdom and strength."
