Pyeongtaek City Implements Chemical Accident Prevention Training for Businesses and Civil Servants
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City held '2019 Chemical Accident Prevention Training' on the 4th at the City Hall Conference Room, targeting approximately 200 participants including employees of businesses handling chemical substances or producing chemical products and civil servants of Pyeongtaek City.
The training covered topics including 'Prevention of Fatalities at Chemical Factories Based on Accident Cases' and 'Characteristics of Chemical Accidents and Response Measures,' encompassing content that businesses handling chemical substances need to know and the roles civil servants must fulfill when chemical accidents occur.
Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "Next year, we plan to conduct discussions and on-site drills involving related agencies such as the city, fire department, police, and Korea Electric Power Corporation, as well as businesses, in preparation for frequent social disaster situations occurring in our city."
Meanwhile, the city received certification as an 'International Safe City' in December last year and held an 'International Safe City Declaration Ceremony' in March.
