Land Registration Address to be Changed to Road Name Address
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Youngtong-gu announced on the 17th that it plans to implement a road name address change registration service that converts land registration lot numbers and parcel addresses to road name addresses.
The road name address system was fully implemented in 2014. According to the government, it is a globally standardized address system that makes navigation easier than the existing lot number and parcel system and enables rapid response in disaster situations.
However, changes of the owner's address in the land registration to road name addresses have not been carried out well due to cumbersome procedures or costs.
To resolve this issue, the district conducted a comprehensive survey of 150,218 cases within its jurisdiction, including land registers and registration records. Once the registration is completed through the registration request process for cases eligible for road name address changes, the district plans to notify the owners of the results.
Ji Jun-man, head of the Comprehensive Civil Affairs Division of Youngtong-gu, said, “Through the road name address change registration service, we expect to contribute to the activation of the road name address system and help citizens save time and costs spent going to the registration office.”
