Uiwang City, NH Nonghyup Bank Uiwang Branch, and Uiwang Agricultural Cooperative Sign MOU on Disaster Basic Income Distribution

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Su-ji] On the 14th, Uiwang City signed a memorandum of understanding for disaster basic income distribution at the City Hall reception room, attended by Uiwang Mayor Kim Sang-don, NH Nonghyup Bank Uiwang Branch Director Hwang Sung-yong, and Uiwang Agricultural Cooperative Chairman Kim Ho-young.

Under the agreement, each institution will cooperate to provide disaster basic income to citizens more stably and work together for the early end of COVID-19, stabilization of citizens' livelihoods, and local economic development.

In particular, the city and agricultural cooperative plan to establish a more efficient cooperation system through this agreement to minimize inconvenience for citizens during in-person applications for disaster basic income starting from the 20th of this month.

The disaster basic income payment for Uiwang citizens is a total of 150,000 won per person (600,000 won for a family of four), combining 100,000 won supported by Gyeonggi Province and 50,000 won supported by Uiwang City.

Online applications can be made from the 9th through the 30th of this month on the Gyeonggi Province Disaster Basic Income website (basicincome.go.kr). Offline applications can be submitted from the 20th of this month through July 31st at neighborhood administrative offices and agricultural cooperatives in the area.

Mayor Kim Sang-don of Uiwang City said, "I thank NH Nonghyup Bank Uiwang Branch and Uiwang Agricultural Cooperative for participating in this agreement, and through this MOU, the three distribution agencies can cooperate to systematically distribute disaster basic income prepaid cards." He added, "I hope the disaster basic income will greatly help stabilize citizens' livelihoods and revitalize the sluggish local economy."
