Pyeongtaek Conducts Full Inspection of Disaster Alert and Warning Systems for Summer Preparedness
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City is conducting a full inspection of disaster alert and warning facilities from the 27th of last month through the 11th of this month to protect citizens' lives and property from summer disasters and to effectively respond to real-time changing disaster situations.
This inspection targets a total of 189 locations including weather observation facilities, river water level gauges, surveillance CCTV cameras for disaster monitoring, automated voice notification systems, and disaster text display signs, with joint inspections conducted by the city and each disaster alert and warning system maintenance contractor.
The operational status of the disaster alert and warning systems, test broadcasts, and system communication status were also verified.
Additionally, the city plans to install automatic rainfall alert facilities in Anseong Stream and Tongbok Stream.
A city official said, "Through this full inspection, we will address any deficiencies in the disaster alert and warning facilities and establish a rapid and accurate information delivery system in case of disaster situations."
