Pyeongtaek City Opens Citizens' Inquiry Call Center
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City held the 'Citizens' Inquiry Call Center Opening Ceremony' on the 10th at the Smart City Integrated Center, 2nd floor.
The opening ceremony proceeded with progress reports, ribbon-cutting, and call center consultation experience, attended by approximately 30 people including Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, Pyeongtaek City Council President Kwon Young-hwa, and city council members.
After going through preparation processes including consultation program development, system construction, and staff recruitment from July of last year for approximately one year, the call center began operations from the 1st of this month. It is operated by a total of 26 personnel, including 22 consultation staff members, and provides consultation services on overall municipal administration.
Currently, consultations are available for simple and repetitive inquiries such as COVID-19 livelihood stabilization measures and general administrative guidance. The city plans to expand consultation services in phases to include local taxes, water and sewerage charges, and illegal parking.
Prior to the opening, the city deployed consultation staff urgently from April 13th to respond to consultation demand for COVID-19 livelihood stabilization measures during the preparation period, and conducted 39,234 consultations over approximately 50 days, including disaster basic income payments, receiving strong response from citizens.
Mayor Jeong Jang-seon said, "As Pyeongtaek City has recently grown into a city receiving nationwide attention, citizens' expectations have also risen," and added, "Through this communication channel of the citizens' inquiry call center, we will listen to citizens' voices and do our best to create a Pyeongtaek where citizens are happy."
