Pyeongtaek Deputy Mayor Lee Jong-ho Inspects Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Construction Site
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek Deputy Mayor Lee Jong-ho visited on the 2nd the construction site of the 'Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Construction Project' for sewage treatment in the Oseong-myeon area of Pyeongtaek City and inspected the progress of the project and compliance with safety regulations.
The Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Construction Project is a facility designed to treat sewage from 41 villages in the Oseong-myeon area of Pyeongtaek City. The treatment capacity is 3,000 tons per day. A total of 48.2 billion won has been invested and the current project completion rate stands at 92%. Test operations are scheduled to begin in August, and after a six-month test period, completion is expected in February 2021.
The city expects that once the sewage treatment facility becomes operational, it will improve the village environment in Oseong-myeon throughout Pyeongtaek City and in parts of Anjung-eup and Cheongbuk-eup, as well as improve water quality in the nearby Anseo Stream.
Deputy Mayor Lee Jong-ho said, "Recent accidents have frequently occurred during work in confined spaces, so caution is necessary," and urged, "Please strictly follow safety guidelines for preventing confined space accidents to ensure no accidents occur."
