[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City announced on the 25th that it will conduct additional recruitment for youth unemployment benefit recipients.

The initiative aims to provide financial support to young jobless individuals who have been involuntarily laid off or dismissed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby supporting their livelihood stability.

The application period runs from 9 a.m. on the 27th to 6 p.m. on August 21st.

A total of 220 applicants will be selected. The target group consists of youths aged 19-34 (born between 1985-2001) with registered residence in Suwon who were employed for more than one month in part-time work, temporary employment, day labor, or part-time jobs and were laid off (including involuntary resignation) between January 20 and July 27 of this year.

University and graduate students on leave are eligible, but high school students are excluded. The workplace can be located anywhere in the country.

However, those working at business establishments operated by direct relatives or in-laws, spouses, or siblings; those receiving basic livelihood security or unemployment benefits (including eligible recipients); and household heads who received government disaster relief funds are excluded.

The total support amount is 1 million won, to be paid in cash in two installments of 500,000 won each to the applicant's personal account. Successful applicants will be notified by text message on August 27th after eligibility screening.

Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi Province Jobs Foundation's JobABA website (https://apply.jobaba.net) integrated application system.

Required documents include a business support application form with employer signature and employment activity certification documents (most recent employment contract, bank statements showing salary deposits), among others.
