[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon Mayor Yum Tae-young visited a lodging facility in Seryu 2-dong on the morning of the 27th to inspect damage caused by Typhoon Bavi (No. 8), which had inflicted minor damages on the area.

As of 9 a.m. on the day, Suwon had reported four damage cases from Typhoon Bavi, all minor with no casualties. A large signboard at a lodging facility in Seryu 2-dong tilted slightly, two street trees were uprooted, and one window pane at a building was broken.

The large signboard at the lodging facility in Seryu 2-dong that Mayor Yum inspected tilted slightly toward an adjacent building's fence due to wind. Mayor Yum instructed officials to "take prompt measures to ensure no threat to citizen safety."

Meanwhile, the city held an emergency countermeasure meeting on typhoon damage prevention on the 25th presided over by Mayor Yum Tae-young, implementing emergency duty operations. From that day, the city has continuously inspected facilities at risk of accidents including advertisements (signs and banners), construction sites, awnings, commercial storefronts, religious facilities (steeples), and street trees, and has taken safety measures.
