Acting Governor Oh Byung-gwon Inspects Metropolitan COVID-19 Joint Response Command Center

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] On the 28th, Oh Byung-gwon, Acting Governor of Gyeonggi Province, visited the Metropolitan COVID-19 Joint Response Command Center, which handles bed assignment for COVID-19 patients in the Seoul metropolitan area, to encourage the staff.

Visiting the Metropolitan Joint Response Command Center inside the National Medical Center in Seoul, Acting Governor Oh Byung-gwon said, "I appreciate the hard work of all of you striving to secure one more bed for COVID-19 patients. It is now an urgent task to establish a sustainable medical system along with efficiency of medical resources," and added, "Gyeonggi Province, which has completed the organization of home-treatment task forces in all 31 cities and counties, will continue to strengthen its home-treatment management capacity."

The Metropolitan Joint Response Command Center is the cornerstone of the Seoul metropolitan area's shared medical resources cooperation system, established to prevent medical gaps caused by administrative boundaries when COVID-19 patients occur and to efficiently utilize limited resources.

About 240 people, including some 30 personnel dispatched from Gyeonggi Province, as well as government and medical personnel, are performing patient classification, bed assignment, and patient transfer support.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor Oh Byung-gwon has been visiting COVID-19 response sites, including the Pyeongtaek Community Treatment Center on the 21st and Gyeonggi Province Medical Center Icheon Hospital, where a home-treatment management medical institution and outpatient clinic are established, on the 23rd.
