Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon: "Young People, Nurture Your Dreams! Suwon City Will Be With You"
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Special City Mayor Lee Jae-joon promised young people on the 6th, "Nurture your dreams. Suwon City will work hard to help you achieve them."
The mayor attended the '2022 Youth UP Cloud Job & Start-up Mentoring Concert' held at the Suwon Convention Center that evening and stated this through his opening remarks, adding "Young people have the strength to overcome any situation," and "Suwon City will create various policies for youth and actively support them."
He continued, "I dreamed of being a student activist, but in my third year of university I decided to become a scholar and achieved that dream. After working as a professor for 13 years and then as an administrator for five years, I have continued to nurture my dream as a politician," and emphasized, "Dreams can always change, and to pursue further challenges in achieving dreams, one must continuously develop oneself."
The '2022 Youth UP Cloud Job & Start-up Mentoring Concert', hosted by Suwon City and organized by the Kyung Hee University and Ajou University LINC 3.0 project teams, is an event that brings together young people, businesses, and universities in one place like a cloud system where necessary resources can be accessed anytime and anywhere, providing opportunities for job and start-up preparation youth to form human networks and strengthen employment competencies through customized consulting.
The event was held with keynote lectures on 'Global and Large Enterprise Job Trends and Analysis' by Kim Ji-yoon, DISNEY operations support manager, and Yoon Deok-won, former Samsung Electronics general manager, start-up panel discussions, and small group mentoring sessions.
Kakao manager Cho Sung-hyun (developer), Coupang department head Lee Kyou-yeol (data analysis), and Jaber CEO Lee Dong-wook (start-up) participated as panelists in the panel discussion.
The 'small group mentoring' session involved 10 mentors working at LG Household & Health Care, Amorepacific, Hyundai Motor, IBM, and CPTEAM, along with 90 mentees (young people).
