Ganghwa County Hosts 70th Western Seoul Metropolitan Area Administrative Council Regular Meeting

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Choi Ki-ho] The 70th Western Seoul Metropolitan Area Administrative Council regular meeting was held on the 2nd at the video conference room of Ganghwa County Office in Incheon.

Attending the meeting were heads or vice heads of eight local government bodies including Ganghwa County in Incheon as the host, along with Gyeyang-gu, Seo-gu, Bucheon City and Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province, Kimpo City, and Gangseo-gu and Yangcheon-gu in Seoul.

The meeting discussed agenda items including ▲joint response measures for securing living SOC facilities in new cities ▲joint response to early mitigation of flight restrictions around Gimpo Airport ▲future direction of activities.

County Governor Yu Cheon-ho of Ganghwa County expressed gratitude to the heads of local governments from the Western Seoul Metropolitan Area Administrative Council who visited Ganghwa County, and stated, "With the construction of the Ganghwa-Gyeyang expressway and the Ganghwa-Yeongjong bridge, the Western Seoul Metropolitan Area will draw even closer," adding "I hope the Western Seoul Metropolitan Area Administrative Council, which shares a living sphere, will continue to join forces to resolve issues on-site and develop together."

Meanwhile, the Western Seoul Metropolitan Area Administrative Council, established in 1993 and operating for its 30th year, comprises eight local government bodies in the Seoul metropolitan area and has been discussing joint cooperation measures among local governments to promote mutual balanced development and efficient metropolitan administration.
