Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang Receives Highest Rating 'SA' Grade in Campaign Promise Implementation Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City announced on the 11th that Mayor Kim Sung-je received the highest grade of 'SA' in the '2024 8th Direct Election Term National Basic Local Government Heads Campaign Promise Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.

With this, Mayor Kim has achieved the remarkable feat of receiving top-tier evaluations for three consecutive years, following the 2022 Manifesto Promise Award and the 2023 Campaign Promise Implementation Plan Evaluation.

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters conducted the evaluation by monitoring campaign promise implementation materials from the websites of 226 national basic local governments as of the end of December 2023, and evaluated five assessment categories: △campaign promise completion △achievement of 2023 targets △citizen communication △web communication △and consistency.

As a result of the evaluation, Uiwang City achieved the highest grade by meeting a comprehensive score of 83 points or higher.

The 8th Direct Election Term campaign projects for Uiwang City, composed of 81 detailed projects under seven major visions, have completed a total of 30 campaign projects to date. Throughout this period, the city has focused on implementing campaign projects closely related to citizens' livelihood, welfare, and education, including △promoting the "elderly health lifestyle enhancement" project △providing free elderly bus fare support △supporting postpartum care and maternal health management services △operating the youth career and educational consultation center △promoting youth smart health management projects △and developing the Uiwang-style childcare center model.

Additionally, the city is making every effort to systematically pursue mid- to long-term projects such as the development of the Poil-dong industrial complex and the Uiwang extension of the Wirye-Gwacheon Line in accordance with each project's yearly goals.

In particular, the city is making efforts to enhance transparency to citizens regarding campaign promise implementation by posting specific content and implementation status on its website and establishing a citizen policy group to receive evaluations on campaign promise implementation.

Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang stated, "It is particularly meaningful to receive the highest grade in this evaluation, which assesses the substantive campaign promise implementation results over the two years of the 8th Direct Election Term, following the 2022 Promise Award and the 2023 Campaign Promise Implementation Plan Evaluation," adding, "Based on this result, I will accelerate the implementation of campaign promises to meet citizens' aspirations for regional development."
