Kim Sung-je, Uiwang City Mayor, Achieves Highest 'SA Grade' in Policy Promise Implementation Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City announced on the 11th that Mayor Kim Sung-je received the highest grade 'SA' in the '2024 8th Civilian-Elected Term National Basic Local Government Heads Policy Promise Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.

With this achievement, Mayor Kim has accomplished three consecutive excellent evaluations following the 2022 Manifesto Promise Award and the 2023 Policy Implementation Plan Evaluation.

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters conducted this evaluation by monitoring policy implementation materials as of the end of December 2023 disclosed on the websites of 226 national basic local governments, evaluating five assessment areas: △promise implementation completion △2023 target achievement △resident communication △web communication △and consistency.

As a result of the evaluation, Uiwang City achieved the highest grade by meeting a comprehensive score of 83 points or higher.

The 8th Civilian-Elected Term Uiwang City policy projects, consisting of 81 detailed projects across seven major visions, have completed a total of 30 policy projects to date. The city has intensively promoted civil livelihood, welfare, and education-related policy projects closely connected to citizens' lives, including △promoting elderly health living plus projects △providing free elderly bus rides △providing postpartum care and maternal health manager support △operating youth career and academic counseling centers △promoting youth smart health management projects △and developing the Uiwang-type childcare facility model.

Furthermore, the city is taking full measures to systematically promote mid-to-long-term projects including Poil-dong industrial complex development and the Wirye-Gwacheon Line extension to Uiwang, aligned with the annual targets of each project.

In particular, the city is making efforts to enhance transparency to citizens regarding policy implementation by posting specific promise details and implementation status on the website and forming a citizen policy committee to receive evaluations on policy implementation.

Mayor Kim Sung-je stated: "Following the 2022 Promise Award and the 2023 Policy Implementation Plan Evaluation, achieving the highest grade in this evaluation, which assesses the substantive policy implementation achievements over the two years of the 8th Civilian-Elected Term, holds even greater significance." He added: "Based on this result, I will accelerate policy implementation to meet the aspirations of citizens who anticipate regional development."
