Suwon Agricultural & Fishery Products Wholesale Market Fisheries Division Launches Onnuri Gift Card Refund Event

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The Fisheries Division of Suwon Agricultural & Fishery Products Wholesale Market is holding a promotional event from January 23-27 in which customers purchasing domestic seafood will receive refunds of up to 20,000 won in Onnuri gift cards for the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Onnuri gift card refund event, organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, provides refunds of up to 30% of the purchase amount in Onnuri gift cards. The maximum refund per person is 20,000 won. Customers can receive 10,000 won in refunds for purchases of 34,000 won or more, and 20,000 won for purchases of 67,000 won or more.

Items purchased with Seafood Expo mobile gift cards, government-reserved seafood products, and items purchased with corporate credit cards are excluded from the refund program.

Out of 59 stores in the Fisheries Division, 53 are participating in the refund event. Products handled include frozen seafood, fresh fish, shellfish, live fish, and dried seafood. Participating stores can be found on the notice board of the Suwon Agricultural Technology Center website.

Only receipts issued on the same day during the event period are eligible for refunds. Between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., customers can bring their payment receipts to the event booth, verify their identity, and receive refunds.

Meanwhile, the Suwon Agricultural & Fishery Products Wholesale Market conducted radiation safety inspections on three types of distributed seafood products, including greater amberjack, on January 16, and all received ‘conformity’ determinations.

Test samples were collected and submitted to the Gyeonggi Province Institute of Health & Environment's Agricultural & Fishery Products Safety Testing Division for radiation safety inspection. All three types were determined to be ‘conforming’ with radioactive substances (iodine and cesium) below the standard levels.

A city official stated, “We are participating in the Onnuri gift card refund event to vitalize consumption of domestic seafood and enable consumers to purchase high-quality seafood at affordable prices. We hope many citizens will visit the Suwon Agricultural & Fishery Products Wholesale Market to purchase safe seafood and receive Onnuri gift card refunds.” The official added, “We hope this event will help revitalize the local economy.”
