Dongan-gu District, Anyang City Implements Intensive Pest Control in Densely Populated Areas
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] The Dongan-gu District Health Center in Anyang City announced on the 21st that it has launched intensive pest control activities targeting densely populated areas with high foot traffic in advance of the summer season.
This intensive pest control effort is a measure to proactively respond to the increase in sanitary pests such as mosquitoes and cockroaches, and to protect citizen health and create pleasant environmental conditions.
The target areas for intensive pest control include densely populated areas with high foot traffic such as Pyeongchon 1-ga Cultural Street (Beomgye Rodeo Street) and the Pyeongchon Station shopping district. The health center's epidemic prevention mobile team, district administrative welfare centers, merchant associations, and Saemaul community groups will jointly conduct pest control twice monthly through October.
Previously, the health center held discussion sessions with district administrative welfare centers and merchant associations to share issues including △food waste disposal problems △complaints about pest infestations △necessity for adjusting pest control schedules, and formulated efficient pest control measures based on public-private communication.
Anyang City Mayor Choi Dae-ho stated, "Through active pest control efforts, we will eliminate pests and create pleasant living environments while doing our utmost for the health promotion of our citizens."
