'First Jojoong-myeon Residents' Day' Commemorative Ceremony and Community Festival Conclude Successfully

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] On the 23rd, Jojoong-myeon in Gapyeong County held the 'First Jojoong-myeon Residents' Day Commemorative Ceremony and Community Festival' at the inline skating rink in Jojoong Living Sports Park, with County Governor Seo Tae-won, County Council Chairman Kim Kyung-soo, council members, and heads of relevant organizations and groups in the jurisdiction in attendance.

The event was organized with diverse programs including a pre-ceremony, the Residents' Day commemorative ceremony and awards ceremony, a cheerful sports day, celebratory performances, and a residents' karaoke competition, creating a special time where local residents and distinguished guests came together in harmony.

In particular, the event was highlighted by the participation of approximately 40 members from Kkotdongnae Convent and House of Joy families, children from Jojoong-myeon daycare centers, and Mr. Choi Sung-seop, a Jojoong-myeon resident born in 1921 who has reached the age of 104, representing diverse segments of the community.

The commemorative ceremony featured an awards ceremony for 14 individuals and 1 organization who have led the way in regional development and community contribution, followed by a cheerful sports day, celebratory performances by invited singers, and a karaoke competition with resident participation, further elevating the festive atmosphere.

County Governor Seo Tae-won said, "Jojoong-myeon has distinguished itself in the field of sports and continues to achieve outstanding results in last year's County Residents' Day athletic competition and this year's Gyeonggi Province athletic competition," and added, "I hope our residents will make greater use of newly expanded sports infrastructure such as Jojoong Living Sports Park, Jojoong Bandabi Sports Hall, and Jojoong-ium-teo Youth Center to become even healthier Jojoong-myeon residents."
