Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council Namyangju Chapter...Building Citizens' Consensus on Reunification

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Um In-yong] The Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council Namyangju Chapter (Chairman Yoo Hyo-sung) held the '3rd Peace Reunification Lecture Tour' on the 4th at a café located in Geumgok-dong, targeting local citizen leaders.

The Peace Reunification Lecture is an independent project of the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council conducted throughout the year to improve reunification awareness among the 740,000 residents of the city. This lecture was held for approximately 50 participants including parents of elementary and middle school students in Geumgok-dong and young artists.

Chairman Yoo Hyo-sung said, "I hope this lecture will provide an opportunity for all citizen leaders in attendance to gain a new perspective on life, and serve as an occasion to reflect on the necessity and meaning of peaceful reunification through the lives of North Korean residents."

Namyangju Mayor Ju Kwang-deok said, "I would like to express my gratitude to Chairman Yoo Hyo-sung of the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council and the related officials for providing citizens with a time to understand reunification," and added, "I look forward to the Democratic Peace Unification Advisory Council continuing to share the value of reunification and lead in establishing a peace culture."
