Suwon Vice Mayor Hyun Geun-taek Inspects Construction Sites in Preparation for Heat Waves and Typhoons

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] On the 22nd, Hyun Geun-taek, Vice Mayor of Suwon Special City, visited construction sites within the city to prepare for heat waves and typhoons, inspecting the status of safety management for natural disaster prevention.

The inspection targets on that day were △'Imok District D1 City Pradium Officetel' in Cheoncheon-dong, Jangan-gu △'Hyosung Harrington Place East Suwon' in Uman-dong, Paldal-gu △'Neighborhood Facility' in Paldalro 1-ga—three locations in total.

Safety of temporary structures, potential material falling and scattering, drainage facility maintenance status, worker rest areas and water supply provision, and heat-related illness preparedness systems were checked against disaster preparedness items.

Minor issues found at the sites were addressed immediately, and items requiring additional improvements will be managed through separately established maintenance plans.

'Imok District D1 City Pradium Officetel' is scheduled for completion in January of next year and will house an officetel of approximately 480 units and neighborhood facilities. 'Hyosung Harrington Place East Suwon' is an apartment complex of 162 units with construction underway targeting completion in March 2027.

Vice Mayor Hyun Geun-taek stated, "As safety accidents due to summer natural disasters such as heat waves, heavy rains, and typhoons continue nationwide, thorough advance preparations for disaster prevention are necessary," and added, "We will develop countermeasures for various disasters in work management to protect the lives and safety of workers."
